SU66 Humboldt Restoration Projects Tour (includes a bag lunch) – GOLD – NEW | 2023 | $60 – SOLD OUT
Time - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Trip Leader(s): Ken Burton & Chet Ogan
In recent years, various restoration projects have taken place around the Humboldt Bay region. Three projects happened just in 2022 alone! This trip – which is more of an interpretive than a birding trip – will take participants north to the Mad River estuary School Road restoration project, south to the Ocean Ranch restoration project, with visits in between to the V Street Loop restoration project and the Elk River estuary restoration project. At each location, a representative(s) of each project will meet the trip in order to explain the project and how it benefits birds and other wildlife, as well as the main reasons each project was implemented. This should be an amazing trip to learn about the ins-and-outs of all the recent restoration projects that have happened around Humboldt Bay. [See events #FR15 and #FR40 for birding-specific Ocean Ranch trips, event #SA41 for School Road restoration birding-specific trips, and event #TH3 for Elk River estuary birding-specific trips). This smaller group event includes a bag lunch, please let us know if you have dietary restrictions by sending an e-mail to godwitdaysreg@yahoo.com with details.
