Officers:

Alex Stillman, Chair, past Arcata City Council member, Arcata businesswoman involved in economic development, historic preservation and downtown revitalization. Friends of the Arcata Marsh board member.

Bob Brown, Vice Chair, principle of Planning at SHN Engineers & Geologists in Arcata and active in the birding community.

Mary Severdia, Secretary, retired finance clerk for the City of Arcata, involved with Godwit Days from its inception. Active in local Theatre.

Alan Lowry, Treasurer, retired electric utility engineer and member and treasurer of the Rotary Club in Arcata.

Directors:

Gary Bloomfield, wildlife artist, owner of Bloomfield Studio, and former board member for Redwood Region Audubon Society.

Amy Fetz, registrar, office manager, volunteer coordinator, and lead event coordinator of Godwit Days since 2006. Small business owner offering office management and event coordination services locally and “virtually”.

Rob Hewitt, owner of LBJ Enterprises, Godwit Days founder and representative to Nature Festival Coordinators Group.

Gretchen O’Brien, Biologist with SHN Engineers & Geologists and lead event coordinator of Godwit Days since 2000.

David Price, spent 25 years as a linguist and community development specialist in Indonesian New Guinea, before he and his family settled in Humboldt County in 2010. David holds degrees in zoology and conservation biology and is currently Senior Environmental Consultant for a Christian development NGO that focuses on Asia.

C. John Ralph, research scientist at the U.S. Forest Service’s Redwood Sciences Laboratory; also serves as board member for Redwood Region Audubon Society and Northcoast Environmental Center.

~In Memoriam~ David Schumaker, vendor coordinator. David Schumaker is the former editor of the Sandpiper (Audubon publication). Previously served as an assistant to Dr W. J. Hamilton on bird migration research at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.

Unfortunately, we lost David recently and intend to dedicate Godwit Days 2019 in his memory. He was our vendor coordinator and “idea man” for many years as a board member. We will all miss him dearly.
