Gary Friedrichsen, long time local birder and active member of the birding and conservation community, told us his dream trip for Godwit Days would be birding around Humboldt Bay with stops at Jacoby Creek mouth near Arcata, Elk River mouth in Eureka, a stop at King Salmon, and then heading across the Samoa bridge and birding at Manila Park, the V Street Loop, and finishing at the Arcata Marsh. So we said LET’S DO IT! Since this is a gold trip, participants will be limited to 10 and a bag lunch will be provided. Maybe at the Arcata Marsh, they’ll meet up and say hello to the Big Sit group, too? Join Gary and Kathryn on this large sampling of Humboldt Bay! Restrooms available at many locations.
