The City of Arcata boasts the crown jewel of birding on the North Coast, the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary, where over 330 species of birds have been recorded. A leisurely paced trip, you will be introduced to the marsh birds, perfect for anybody with an interest in nature. As part of the City of Arcata’s wastewater treatment process, this restored and constructed wetland area hosts an abundance of birds and other wildlife. An exclusive tour of the wastewater treatment facility is included in this event. Terrain mostly flat, but may be wet. There will be plenty of opportunities to use a spotting scope if you have one to bring.
Children must be at least 10 years old to attend.
