SA51 Spotted Owls on Green Diamond Land 3 – CLASSIC | 2024 | $25

This trip is the epitome of what we term a “Classic Godwit Days Trip.” Nowhere else in North America can you sign up for a trip and be almost guaranteed to SEE Spotted Owl. These trips have never missed Spotted Owls and often the experience is (enter any superlative you come up with!). Participants will visit known activity centers of Northern Spotted Owls in their nesting habitat with Green Diamond Resource Company biologists. The biologists are extremely knowledgeable about Spotted Owl biology, so not only will you hopefully get great looks at this threatened species, but you also will walk away knowing a lot more about their life history and biology.  If the owls cooperate, this trip offers superb photographic opportunities. The owls come amazingly close as they swoop down for offered mice. Because the trip goes beyond a locked gate onto Green Diamond property, it cannot be joined up with after the group leaves the Community Center. Wear sturdy footwear, as off-trail hiking is sometimes involved, but many times walking is along gravel or dirt forest roads. No restrooms after the Community Center. Event repeats on Sunday (#SU74). We request registrants to sign up for one Spotted Owls trip only to allow others an opportunity to join this trip.
