Meet in the community center lobby.

This walking trip will start at the Hilfiker Park & Ride looking for songbirds and hope for sightings of Sora and Virginia Rails. The group will then walk through the level, paved Hikshari trail through the Elk River Wildlife Sanctuary to the Elk River mouth to look for waterbirds and passerines (~1.5 mi round trip). Yellow-billed Loon and Royal Tern have both showed up at the Elk River mouth during previous Godwit Days festivals. Bring a spotting scope if you have one, a reusable water bottle, and a lunch.
