This field trip is designed for young naturalists, age 5 and up, accompanied by an adult. An introduction to birds, how to use binoculars, and identification tips will begin this trip, followed by a leisurely walk around the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary, practicing what the youngsters have learned. Children will receive their choice of a Marsh enameled pin or embroidered patch. Small binoculars suitable for children will be on loan for use during the trip, courtesy of Friends of the Arcata Marsh. The terrain is mostly flat on groomed trails. Restrooms available at the interpretive center and at Klopp Lake (foot of South I Street). Please only register your child as taking a space for this event.
