No, this trip isn’t going to just look for BIG shorebirds; it’s going to try and find as many species of shorebirds as possible in the five hours this trip runs! That means the trip will visit many different shorebird habitats to complete the task: Humboldt Bay, local beaches, rocky habitats, bottomland pastures, and more to experience the spring shorebird diversity of coastal Humboldt County. Join local shorebird biologist and now-retired wildlife professor of Cal Poly Humboldt, Mark Colwell, on this sure-to-be fun and informative trip. Bring lunch. Wear comfortable footwear and prepare to be walking on various substrates. Restrooms available at multiple stops.
