Meet in front of the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center located at 569 South G Street in Arcata, CA. (Copy and paste the following link into your web browser: https://goo.gl/maps/Q94zWzEf689b5rRr6.) A restroom will be available and participants may borrow kid-sized binoculars belonging to FOAM.

Mark is a FOAM Board member and a professor in the Humboldt State biology department. This field trip is designed for the young naturalist, between the ages of 5 and 12, accompanied by an adult. An introduction to using binoculars will precede a leisurely walk around the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary practicing what the youngsters have learned. All children attending will receive a free sew-on embroidered Arcata Marsh patch featuring a Marsh Wren and a Junior Naturalist booklet. Upon completion of the walk, FOAM will rebate the $10 basic registration fee to all accompanying adults. The terrain is mostly flat, groomed trails. We will not stop for food, but snacking would be easy along the trails, and a port-o-potty is also available at the Klopp Lake parking lot at the foot of South I Street.
