This event will meet at the Arcata Community Center, out front of the building. Festival headquarters will not be set up there quite yet so just look for others with binoculars and spotting scopes.
Are you new to birding or have never gone birding but Godwit Days maybe peaked your interest? This trip is perfect for you! This trip will be easy-paced, working on teaching how to use binoculars properly and to start the process of learning how to identify birds by their appearance, habitat and habits. This field trip will focus on the common birds of the Arcata Marsh. Restrooms are available at the Klopp Lake parking lot anytime and at the Interpretive Center after 9 a.m. Bring a spotting scope if you have one, a reusable water bottle, and possibly a snack or lunch if you wish. There are picnic tables at Klopp Lake.
