Seawood Cape Preserve is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy, whose mission is to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the Earth and provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature. Located in Yurok Ancestral Territory, situated between Trinidad Head and Sue-Meg State Park, the preserve protects 128 acres of habitat that stretches from rocky coast to redwood forest. A pocket of wild – including coastal bluff, wet meadow, alder woodland, and spruce-fir and redwood forests – Seawood Cape Preserve provides refuge to a diversity of birds and other organisms in an otherwise human-altered landscape. Join us for a morning exploring this special place and its extensive biodiversity. This property is usually not open to the public – except by reservation – so this is a special opportunity. Most of the trails are level and easy but can be wet on the east side. On the west side, the trail down to Scotty’s Point is quite steep. Restrooms available.

MEETING LOCATION: Arcata Community Center Lobby
