The Hikshari trail is a segment along the southern portion of the Eureka Waterfront trail, and together they comprise one of the premier urban trails in Humboldt County along the Elk River and Eureka channel of Humboldt Bay. It’s been some years since Godwit Days has offered this trip, so we are pleased to offer it again. Expect to walk 2-3 miles on paved, level trails and enjoy the many species of shorebirds, waterfowl, grebes, raptors, and songbirds in the diverse habitats that are found along these spectacular trails. Restrooms available.

♿ This trip is accessible for people using wheelchairs.

Bird species seen at these locations during April, view here.

MEETING LOCATION: Arcata Community Center, Outside front doors
