This event meets at the Mad River Fish Hatchery in Blue Lake. Wait, the Godwit Days Fall Preview does dragonflies, too?! YES, YES IT DOES! We like all things with wings so we are offering this premier dragonfly trip to ever grace the Fall Preview! Many might think that summer is the time to go out and look for dragonflies but fall can be rather good too. Meet local Odonate Expert, Sandra Hunt-von Arb, at the Mad River Fish Hatchery to look for fall species such as Vivid Dancer, Autumn Meadowhawk, Paddle-tailed Darner and more. After “Odeing” at hatchery another location in Blue Lake may be visited, too. A great trip for you late risers and a great trip for birders that may be just starting to get interested in the Odonata! Bring binoculars and, if you have it, bring a butterfly or insect net, too.
